The freedom writers.

 The freedom writes.

For the last three periods in English, we have been watching a movie called freedom writers. It is an amazing move about a teacher putting in a major effort to help a classroom of troubled students find their potential. In the beginning, all the students in the class hated each other. there was a war between races and gangs, so none of them wanted to be anywhere near each other and were constantly fighting. Miss G set up activitys so the students could all see that in most ways they are the same and are living the same lives just on different sides. The teacher, Miss G was working two extra jobs to make a bit of extra money to buy her student the resources they needed to succeed, she had to buy her own resources because the school would not give her students the books or resources they needed to learn because they simply didn't believe in them. But Miss G believed that these kids could do great things.

Miss G brought all of her student's diaries, for them to write about their lives and talk about what they have been through. She gave them the option to let her read the books so she could get a better understanding of what the kids were really going through. All of her students left the diaries for her to read.

The students started with learning about the holocaust as none of them knew what it was. Miss G and the class raised the money for the class to be able to go to a holocaust museum, where they all learned very important things. They then went on to read the diary of Anne Frank. The diary of Anne Frank was inspiring to the students. A lot of them saw the lady who hid Anne Frank a hero.

All of the students wanted to meet the lady who hid Anne Frank. So they fundrased and wrote her leaters.
