Mystery genre performance.

In music we had to pick a random genre out of a hat and what every genre we got we have to find a song and preform. The genre my group got was Hip-Hop.
The definition of hip-hop: a style of popular music of US black and Hispanic origin, featuring rap with an electronic backing.
MY group is Sophie, Sofia and me. I will be singing and the girls will be playing piano.

Harriet Tubman

This is my research task on Harriet Tubman, she was a hero.

Blood vessels.

Arteries are any of the muscular-walled tubes forming part of the circulation system by which blood (mainly that which has been oxygenated) is conveyed from the heart to all parts of the body.

Capillaries are any of the fine branching blood vessels that form a network between the arterioles and venules. A

 tube that has an internal diameter of hairlike thinness.

 Veins are any of the tubes forming part of the blood circulation system of the body, carrying in most cases oxygen-depleted blood towards the heart.

Blood: Your blood is made up of 54% Plasma, 45% Red blood cells and 1% white blood cells and platelets.

Plasma is a straw coloured liquid that transports carbon dioxide from your cells to your lungs, nutrients from the small intestine to your cells and chemical messengers (hormones) to your cells.

Red blood cells contains a chemical called haemoglobin that carries oxygen around your body.

White blood cells are responsible for fighting infection and disease. the number of white blood cells increase when a person is fighting an infection or disease.

Platelets are tiny fragments of cells. they are reasonable for making blood clot when you cut your skin.

Sensory Language.

Sensory Language is language that connects to the five senses (touch, smell, taste, hearing, sight) to create an image or description.

There it was, the bright light that everyone talked about. I sat there blinded as the faint sound of voices got closer and closer. I wasn't moving but i felt as if I was flying, maybe I was. The air around me had a smooth meadow sent that was heavenly to breath in and out. All of a sudden I was dropped into a Luke warm pool of water, salt water to be exact. I had taken in a huge mouthful by accident when I fell. Disgusting, I've always hated the foul taste of salt water. I swam along for awhile waiting to find the voices, they were very faint now. The water slowly started to feel like warm jelly all around me, strange...

My favourite would have to be I'm not gay but i'd go gay for John Key. I liked it because it was funny but made good points of how John Key lead our country in 2011 - 2014. 
I liked that he talked about the problems with John Key and still managed to make it funny " He has the courage to be a leader but not even act like one" and I also liked the " They are just ordinary New Zealanders" part because it was turning something that upset the country into a joke.

What is a music genre?

A music genre is a conventional category that identifies some pieces of music as belonging to a shared tradition or set of conventions. It is to be distinguished from musical form and musical style, although in practice these terms are sometimes used interchangeably.

Similes and metaphors

The definition of a simile in my own words is: A simile is describing that you are like something.
The definition of a metaphor in my own words is: A metaphor is a statement that you are something.

My own similes: I am as fast as a cheetah and as loud as lion.
My own metaphors: I am a Dyson vacuum cleaner. I am proud.

One advertisement for ‘Tomorrow, When The War Began’ states:

‘Hell isn’t only a place for the damned, sometimes it’s a place where the saved take refuge… Seven teenagers take a trip to Hell. And seven come back. To Hell’

1. What do you think this statement means? That hell isn't just a place you go when you die.
2. What could ‘Hell’ mean in this context? The war or tough time.
3. Why do you think the story is entitled ‘Tomorrow, When the War Began’? Not completely sure.
4. What does that make you think the book will be about? The war.
5. What do you think the characters will be like? Young silly teenagers.

What does it mean to be a good mathematician?

1. Not giving up when it gets hard. Keep on going even when it gets difficult, even when you don't understand.
2. Asking questions. Asking questions is also a good way to learn new things as well.
3. Never stop learning.
4. Teach/ help others when its needed.
